Contemporary Site Design was founded in September, 2014 by artist-designer Clive Holden & web developer Barry Veerkamp. If you've seen something you've loved on a website, or in an app, newsletter, social media strategy, or digital media or content, we can do it. If you've never seen it, but wished you could, chances are we can do that too.
We create sites and online digital media with a modular approach where we can scale our development to match your needs. We make two kinds of websites:
Custom
We make our Custom sites with an innovative hybrid of website technology + app software (they look like a website, but act like an app). Because of this, we can create beautiful sites that behave in new ways: with filmic page transitions, cutting-edge multimedia, ultra-fast navigation, and almost any kind of interaction you can think of.
Wordpress
We also make top-level Wordpress websites, with or without custom add-ons. We can further develop existing sites using the full array of Wordpress website creation tools. Or, we can add custom code to extend their capabilities, or to customize how they look.
Content Management Systems (CMS)
In either case, you'll have user-friendly admin access to your site via professional CMS tools that let you easily edit your own website, and fully integrate it with the rest of your digital communications.
Apps+
We also develop web apps, can streamline your email management and newsletter formatting, and help you develop a multi-platform social media strategy. With Contemporary Site Design, all your web content can transpose seamlessly to tablets and phones, or to a custom-designed app.
Databases
We can also streamline your data importation & help to manage your database (we can import the data from your organization's existing website or offline database, adapting it for the new site).

Clive has 20 years experience in creating multi-disciplinary art & design. His work includes front-end web design, website project management, digital printmaking, new media art, & online film & video. His background includes:
- design & project management of an online art gallery with full e-commerce functionality
- design, development, & web-mastering for a 450 member media arts co-op
- development & management of a web-based literary press & online store
- & related technical experience such as: the development & marketing of 2D vector illustration software; the creation of visual art including digital printmaking & website artworks; film & video production, post-production, & multiple platform modes of exhibition
